Sri Lanka

After hearing what a great holiday destination Sri Lanka can be, many holiday-goers ask the same question: where is it?

Sri Lanka is just one part of South Asia. It is an independent island nation found in the Indian Ocean, almost rowboat distance away from the tip of the Indian subcontinent. The island is thought to have been connected to India with an 18-mile long land bridge once, but only limestone shoals remain.

The Living Heritage Koslanda is one of the most tranquil boutique-like retreats in Sri Lanka. Located among the magnificent Beragala hills, you can enjoy staying in one of just four villas supported by the beautiful Devianga Kale forest.

The site itself is infamous for its remarkable natural beauty. It also has a waterfall and a south flowing river which are considered to be vital for healthy living. The forest is also part of the route elephants have used for many centuries when they leave the plains behind for the dry season. If you arrange to stay between June and August, you may even be lucky enough to catch sight of these incredible creatures as they begin their trek.

Hawaii

Famous for its world-renowned holiday destination spot, Hawaii is known for its eight main beautiful islands and white sand beaches. Whilst Maui is fun for families to spend quality time together, Oahu attracts suffers, outdoor adventures and party-goers. Kauai is the ideal location to indulge in luxury.

The Four Seasons Resort Haualalai, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Island is one of the best of the best when it comes to accommodation. Located on Hawaii Islands exclusive Kona-Kohala Coast, the site is situated among vibrant tropical palms between lava blackened volcanic rocks capturing the Hawaiian culture and design.

From exploring the crystal clear waters and scenery of the Kona-Kohala coastline in a ribcraf to enjoying seeing above one of the world’s most active volcanoes by helicopter, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy on this unforgettable Hawaiian holiday.

Beside beachside swimming pools, children can participate in a number of games and enjoy splashing around in a number of locations. Kids can even get the opportunity to snorkel with over 4,000 tropical fish or watch a film projected onto an outdoor big screen under the glistening stars.

The Maldives

As such a remote island, a number of people question where the Maldives is located. It is one of the few desirable tropical locations to visit around the world, overlooked by a number of travellers. Despite its obvious beauty, this amazing paradise island is home to a unique culture and private luxury.

The Maldives is home to some of the most stylish villas on the water. Diamonds Althuruga is just one of the Indian Ocean’s most contemporary resorts. From visiting Velingandu Island beach or Alimatha Island to embarking on a snorkelling safari or Maldives submarine tour, there are plenty of things to do no matter whether you want to spend your time exploring or soaking up the sun rays.

If you choose to stay near Male, the capitals, you’ll be closer to the airport and a number of attractions you’d expect to find in a capital city. If you decide to stay in one of the more remote resorts, you are a little more limited to the facilities found nearby – but the more remote the island resort you stay is, the better chance you have of seeing a clear night sky first hand! You may even catch a glimpse of dolphins and whale sharks!

If you are looking for a romantic getaway, Diamonds Athuruga Beach & Water Villas are the ideal place to stay. This exclusive resort offers the best all-inclusive services to take care of guests and gives you a rare glimpse of the Maldivian way of life. You can’t get much closer to the crystal waters than this!

ESTA Visa Registration

To visit the majority of the destinations listed above, you will need some form of visa. If you’re looking to head to Hawaii however, you will need an ESTA specifically. You can apply for your ESTA travel Visa in just three simple steps. The Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) is an online system used to determine the eligibility to visitors travelling abroad under the USA Visa Waiver Program. The scheme was first introduced in 2009 by Department of Homeland Security to magnify security measures and require travellers to be pre-screened before they are able to board an airplane.

If you are a citizen of a Visa Waiver Program and plan to travel to the United States of America by land, you do need to apply for an ESTA. It is only if you are visiting the U.S. by sea or air will you have to apply for an ESTA. Even if pass through, you must complete an ESTA. If you are not a citizen a county that hosts a Visa Waiver Program, you are required to have a visa – an ESTA will not apply to you.

To get an ESTA, you must have an e-passport. An e-passport is a passport that contains an electronic chip encoded with the information found on page two of the passport. Details include your full name and gender. If your passport was issued after 26th October 2006, you will need to renew your passport to receive one with a chip in it.

When you apply for an ESTA Visa, you are required to provide your passport details, medial information, criminal records and travel history information.

Those that submit their ESTA Visa application online are required to pay an online registration fee. Applications that are accepted have a fee of $14 (approximately 10), and $4 (approximately 3) if your application is rejected.
