5 Awesome Beach Destinations That Deserve More Appreciation

A beach holiday is a real crowd pleaser; it is sure to leave you feeling relaxed and invigorated. The world is covered in countless beautiful beaches in a variety of different shapes and sizes, with beach apartments victoria, Miami, Costa Rica, etc. ready for tourists. It is also wise to have great beach attire with Reef Ortho Sandals being a great choice for footwear. Whilst there are a number of beaches that appear time and time again on your Instagram feed, here is a list of beach destinations that deserve some more attention and are definitely worth a visit:

  1. Kerala, India

India, located in South Asia, is famous for its cuisine and culture. Whilst India is globally most well-known for the Taj Mahal, it is also home to some beautiful beaches, specifically in Kerala. If you are planning a holiday to Kerala, be sure to check out the following beaches:

Kovalam Beach

This area is the most developed beach in Kerala and is perfect for anyone who wants a bit more than just to lie on a beach due to the fact that it is the perfect place to go surfing.

Varkala Beach

Whilst this is a popular beach, it is not as crowded as Kovalam. If it therefore a perfect choice if you prefer going on a romantic beach trip with your partner,

Bekal Beach

Famous for its old fort, this partly untouched beauty is perfect to stay away from tourists and croweds. Although it is still mostly unspoiled, there are a couple of luxury hotels along the coastline to enhance your stay.

  1. Dominica

Situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, Dominica is home to beaches coloured with white, black and gold sand. It is therefore no surprise that Dominica has made it onto this list of underappreciated beaches. Some of the beaches that are definitely worth a visit include:

Scotts Head

Located on the southern tip of the island, this place is considered magical and definitely a must-visit. Soufriere Bay, a protected marine reserve, can also be seen here.

Hampstead Beach

This beach has black sand, something not commonly encountered in other beach destinations. It’s perfect for a relaxing holiday away from the crowds.

  1. The Coast of Morocco, Essaouira

Morocco, located in the African continent, is famous for the Sahara Desert. However, whilst it may not be commonly known, Morocco is also home to a number of beautiful beaches and coastal resorts, an example being Essaouira, making Essaouira a superb holiday destination.

Essaouira, known as the Wind of Africa, is jam-packed with tourists who prefer the beach to the desert from April to November. Other people schedule their tour here during spring or autumn to witness the Fortified Medina in full bloom.

  1. Philippines

The Philippines is surrounded by crystal clear water everywhere you look. Each place offers a different beauty and there are endless amounts to see and do. Here are just two suggestions of my favourites:

Siargao Island

Situated in the province of Surigao del Norte, this teardrop-shaped island has now gradually made a name throughout the world due to its huge waves and blue waters.

Palawan Island

It’s the fifth largest island in the country and one of the most visited islands due to its beautiful beaches that compete with Phi Phi Islands in Thailand. Whilst there, make sure to visit Port Barton and El Nido.

  1. Japan

Japan may be known for its culture, shrines, and delicious food, but if you’re not fond of cherry blossoms, perhaps you might want to pay a visit to the beach instead.

Katsurahama Beach

The government prohibits people from swimming in the sea on the beach due to the strong current, but this is still a perfect place to enjoy the view.

Odaiba Beach

It may be a man-made beach, but it’s still the perfect place to relax and get a tan and is definitely worth a visit if you want to see a different side of Japan.
